Placeholders throwing errors

I'm getting this error when using the "<modifier.damage>" placeholder. The error was replicated in a test environment with all stable builds of Mobs, Items, Core, and Lib. The line of code in question was pulled directly from the manual example: "- damage{a="<modifier.damage>"} @Target". The skill is defined in Core and points to the Mobs skill as per the manual.
