"Damage" option not working correctly

Summary The "Damage" option, used to set a mob's damage to something other than the mob it is based on (for example wolf) dows nothing. I have a mob based on the Wolf. I set the damage to 12, which theoretically should make the mob do 6 hearts per hit. However, the mob only does 2.5 hearts per hit, like the default damage of the wolf it is based on.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a mob with a "Damage" value different from the mob it is based on.
  2. Have the mob attack you.

Current behavior The mob deals the same amount of damage like the mob type it is based on. For example a mob based on a Wolf, would deal the same damage as a wolf

Intended correct behavior The mob would deal damage according to the "Damage" option.
